Camden Widgington Becomes First New Signing on The 21/22 Roster

17-year-old Canadian netminder, Camden Widgington, is the first recruit to sign for OHA UK’s academy for the 2021/22 season. Camden has been playing for Selwyn House Prep school in West Mount, Quebec, Canada since 2018 and is looking forward to joining our full-time ice hockey academy.

Camden said:
“I’m very proud and excited to be a part of the Okanagan Hockey Academy UK family. I can’t wait to hit the ice with my new teammates.”

Head Coach Ryan Aldridge said: “I am excited with the signing of Camden; It’s always great when a student from a top hockey nation trusts our organisation will help them become a better hockey player and that they’re excited to live out a new life experience at the same time. I am sure Camden will have a great experience here with us in the UK both on and off the ice. Camden was introduced to us through Euan King and is highly recommended via Euan’s extensive Goalie contacts in North America, we all can’t wait to work with Camden next season.

Academic and Hosting Coordinator Dave Ridley said:
“As Camden is an international player he will be staying with a host family whilst he is here in the UK. We have had phenomenal feedback about our host families so I have no doubt Camden will fit right in and have a great all-round experience.”

Finally, everyone at Okanagan Hockey Academy UK would like to welcome Camden to the team.
